Speech On Congratulation

RESTORATION OF "THE OFFICE BVMARIA" OF 1750 (thesis)

For the discussion of the thesis of the level I was involved in the restoration of a Officio of the Blessed Virgin Mary (a collection of daily prayers to Madfonna widely used by the Brotherhoods of the airlines and the Disciplined) printed at Turin in 1750 by Gerardo Giuliano.

I state at once that the bibliographic information about the printer and print a year since I have not obtained same volume (as the title page missing), but I discovered them after I-huge-work of painstaking research (to be true ... Bibliofilo) started with the analysis of the woodcuts in the volume and assumptions about the possible release of AREA the text (I was not even sure fossestato printed in Piedmont!). Fortunately, this challenging work, carried out in parallel with the restoration has led to an astonishing result: since they have no information on the title, printer, place and year of printing of the book are able to trace all this information, finding an exact copy, complete the book I was restoring.

Apart from the problem of the of the title, this book offered already, in itself, the opportunity to perform a full restoration and challenging, perfect for a thesis.

This is a hardcover book with blanket semifloscia (dials in cardboard form) in leather embossed (probably gold) on the back. as already mentioned was missing several cards, and those present were in poor condition: creases, rips, holes, animal wastes, stains of any kind, walkways insect attacks, biological, moisture stains were found on quasin all the cards. The back was deformed and the nerves folded on themselves, the blanket was separated from the body of the book, ill case packers, the leather was shrunken and brittle, with gaps, scratches and deposits of various kinds. the anterior quadrant was in fairly good condition with two notes of ownership: a gate and incomprehensible, the other bearing the inscription "Carolus Cottalorda Nicolas", the rear quadrant was largely incomplete.

describe here briefly some phases of the restoration of this volume: I prefer not to publish the report of restoration as part of the Thesis.

were performed: the filing, collating, dusting, disassembly, cleaning, dry volume, washing, deacidification and ricollatura cards, paper restoration (done manually on each of the 420 cards left) it final pressing of the files, cleaning, protective wax treatment and integration of the shortcomings of the deck (with a tanned leather for restoration work and hand) . With the discovery of an identical copy of the book, it was possible to determine exactly how many cards and especially those files were missing, rebuild them with facsimiles of Japanese paper, form the card guard card Ingres and sew it all together with the restored files technique continues to 5 individual nerves in string. They subsequently made the restoration of the quadrants (with a specially designed carton to form the basis from paper pulp by imitating the ancient techniques of production), assembly of the deck on the original dial and original creation (for the body of the book) of a new pool in imitation of the original box with dials in the same kind of conservative and leather used to supplement the original pool. The book restored the original cover and a booklet containing photos of missing pages from the book were placed in a cardboard box kept in conservative cloth bookbinding tailored from the original form created specifically for the occasion. attaching photos of the book and before restoration of certain phases of the operation.

RESTORATION OF A VOLUME OF 1723 (work in progress)

This is the "DIZIONARIUM Ecclesiasticum" printed by Felix Moscow to Naples in 1723. It 's a hardcover book with capitals in the head and foot, sewing on two nerves in each string (alternate technique) and covered in parchment semifloscia contemporary original. It has some typographical woodcut initials and well made, but the real peculiarity is the number of notes held by present and the actions that the previous owners have made about the book: through the outer door had originally held a note at the top of page and a note in pen at the bottom: the first was covered by a patch of paper it is written on a further note of possession, the second, unfortunately, was cut off with scissors and hole "filled" (does not seem correct to say "integrated with a patch ...") attached to the paper.

The condition is, overall, quite good: all the cards are affected by moisture very extensive gore, but do not show significant gaps with a few papers concerned by a walkway insect. the seam is weak and not well anchored in several places, the deck is very dirty parchment, deformed, with tears and holes along the edges.

were already performed on the volume filing, collating, disassembly, cleaning, dry cleaning and ricollatura deacidification of papers and cartons. as well as the cleaning of parchment covered with artificial saliva with first pass and second pass (immediately) with water and alcohol. The most interesting challenge consisted in the separation, sull'antiporta, sovrammessa between the patch and the possession of the original note. the adhesive, which at first seemed the type of animal glue that swell easily in water, which was found, however, practically insoluble in water, and there were significant results with any other method of posting "traditional" (localized humidification , wraps Tylose etc..) only with a pack of Laponite (left to act for more than an hour) it was possible to soften the glue without excessive damage and separate the two layers of paper. At the end of the restoration will publish the technical report in detail to illustrate the phases of this delicate work. I enclose some pictures of the first volume of the restoration.

Dog's Tongue With Red Spot

RESTORATION OF A VOLUME OF 1574 (work in progress)

This is a hardcover book collecting the works "WORKSHOP" and "CORNUCOPIAE" Joan Ravis TEXTORIS (a French writer and philosopher who lived between the thirteenth and fourteenth century AD), printed both by JOAN. GRYPHIUM in Venice in 1574.

Presents capitals in the head and foot, a blanket in the back with gold leather and interesting woodcuts, the most beautiful is used as a mark of the printer: a winged griffin holding a block of wood which is engaged with a ball wings, there are around the words "virtue leader - Comite luck." And 'present possession of a stamp that says "Brighi Paul Library of Cesena. Paul Brighi probably lived during the nineteenth century and was a collector of old books, in contact with Vieusseux.

pessimo0 The volume is preserved, and it is likely who suffered the consequences of a 'flood or otherwise flood the place where it was kept once the cards are brittle, muddy and characterized by very dark spots caused by tanning substances and / or dyeing leather covered that have faded on the cards. These spots are particularly extensive and affects most points in the readability of the text. The deck is warped, rigid, with deposits of mud and not properly anchored to the body of the book.

I have already run on this volume filing, collating, disassembly, cleaning, dry all parts of the book, washing and deacidification of papers, the most interesting challenge will be try to find a way (alternative to the traditional remove stains with hydrogen peroxide) to remove brown spots on the cards. I post some photos of the volume, completion of the restoration will publish the report with the results: the characteristics of this book make it a very interesting case study.

Does Thyroxine Block Parnate

from town to the book of history continues to chart Lozio.

receive and publish the reply of James to Goldaniga letter and Eliana Baffelli Fabio Giorgi in the controversy started by the same Goldaniga pages Graffiti in November 2010.
I do not know who they are and Eliana Baffelli Fabio Giorgi, but I think can be two directors or two supporters of the former mayoress Fiorani. First of all advise them to read the response that the mayor of Malegno sent me privately, in which Hector alludes to the position of porter at the time was neither understood nor accepted (the letter is from me or from the mayor himself).
I doubt the two are very malicious and biased. This summer I was invited to stage a photo exhibition on Magnolini and to submit my novel, the Pro Loco of Lozio in collaboration with the City of Lozio and Exhibition Hall of the Villa Fontana. (Ergo the activities of the undersigned is not the work of Michael Pizio). About phoned Mayor Antonio Giorgi send a letter informing me that the paper will clarify how he found where the municipality at the time of its establishment, the financial difficulties, and more, pointing even to the condominietti would not have been given to the town (if I understand it) the cost of construction and infrastructure works.
Lozio When I came to I saw in detail the destruction building (which has nothing to do with my cultural activity), and I reported spontaneously without any prompting, flu or fuorvianza.
second point. Mr. Michael Pizio was instructed by me to process two chapters on the photographs of the people of Lozio (whose titles I could not know) and partnerships, both old and new. At the time, given the reports Fiorani-Pizio I asked if he had anything to the contrary on this collaboration and mayoress told me that it was well accepted. About the adjective "notorious" I do not know what the two allude, explain better, because the Italian vocabulary recitation "which has a bad reputation" (of which I am not). The allocation of resources for the book, for those who are not myopic had a purpose and a commercial promotion. 1. was intended to pay homage to All 400 family history of the country (with a circulation of 200 copies could not be certain to do, about how the software handled the 200 copies that no one has seen it?) 2. because in summer they go back to around 1000 migrants Lozio and about 2000 tourists, the book (2000 copies budgeted for) would be sold, not only recovering the cost, but with a profit margin. Unfortunately, I see that the junta has failed Fiorani not even get a commercial benefit from a cultural operation. (TacĂ cc know how to bric Cavrie - said in 1923 Arnaldo Canossi). Therefore, the budgeted expenditure "significant" for the two, was totally recovered!
Finally I ask you a question. The money recovered from the Council before Quetti for the printer has printed 200 copies ridiculous in economics where they are gone, as have been used? Today there are people who seek to Lozio book and not find it. But has not been a sabotage to this book because it included the name of Michael Pizio? If so it would be petty because in the Bible it is said that "the mistakes must not be part of the fathers upon the children?" It would be good so it's better that Fabio Giorgi Baffelli and Eliana are documented on the case before insinuate some doubts miserable, with the ' attempt to throw mud on a clear and transparent collaboration (the machine Mud Saviano) to some extent at a loss. I which has already been collaborated with the current mayor Giorgi on the book of the Castle of Noble and his successor on the recovery of the Castle itself. In addition to bias I do not keep any part of the mayor, because as I said in my previous article, I consider them "a small caste", a business committee.
